Hatteras goes to great lengths to not only deliver a superior quality product, but with the service and care to match as well.
Instead of following the old dealer model, where service has to be done only at the dealer you purchased the yacht from, Hatteras will take the steps to get your boat fixed wherever it is. For instance, clients that purchased a new Hatteras from me at Tom George Yacht Group can get their boats repaired under warranty in Panama City, Jacksonville, Kennebunkport, Key West, etc…you name it. Hatteras can either coordinate warranty work through local service people wherever you are (as long as they are reputable, insured) or send their own service techs to make repairs.
Say warranty work or an update needs to be done on the rudder system, requiring a haul out. The Hatteras service team will find a local boat yard where you are to haul the boat, dispatch their own service guys to that local yard and get the work done that they need to. If the repair is something simple like a bilge pump replacement, they will likely use a local service group (of your choosing or they will find one) to complete that task.
This new style of warranty service gives a direct line of communication with the Hatteras techs and the owner/captain, resulting in a more efficient and higher quality experience with less down time.
Hatteras has 2 different service hubs through which this work is coordinated, the service team based out of the factory in New Bern, North Carolina and the service team based out of the Hatteras Yacht Center in Ft. Lauderdale. Depending on where your boat is based or where she is traveling, either of these groups will be there to assist and make your boating experience as worry free as possible.
In addition to this warranty and care for new Hatteras owners, Hatteras also takes great care to assist our legacy owners as well…keeping extensive records of past models in their archives, they can help those that have bought a pre-owned Hatteras with technical questions and offer advice and assistance. This is so important in today’s world for yacht owners to know that even when the warranty runs out, there is still a manufacturer that cares and is willing and able to help!

In addition to the Hatteras components warranty, the other vessel systems are also covered by very comprehensive warranty protection from the best companies in the business:
Caterpillar engines, engine controls and transmissions are covered by a standard 2 year warranty from Gregory Poole Caterpillar, who installs the new engines in Hatteras Yachts at the factory. All new Hatteras Yachts with CAT engines are enrolled in the CAT Concierge program, which give the owner/captain one number to call for all of their CAT service and warranty needs. This CAT Concierge will work as the contact point and coordinate service and warranty work needed on your yacht anywhere in the world through the extensive CAT service network.
Hatteras Yachts with CAT engines are also all pre-installed with GPlink, a vessel systems monitoring systems that will allow you to remotely monitor your boat. It keeps track of location, if any vessel alarms go off, speed, heading, battery voltage, engine rom, engine load, oil pressure, etc…if anything happens you will receive a phone call, text or e-mail.
Hatteras also offers MTU engines in some of its yachts, such as the new Hatteras GT70. MTU also offers top shelf service and support through its network of dealers.
Hatteras partners with Hi Seas Technology for all the navigation electronics and entertainment electronics aboard their yachts. Wherever your yacht is, if service is needed on their systems, they will send a tech to make the repair.
